HOCKEY.

INDIAN ARMY TEAM. TO TOUR NEW ZEALAND. The New Zealand Hockey Association h;ts received cable advice from the British Army Headquarters, Delhi, India, stating that this army representative hockey touring team will arrive in New Zealand on May 18th approximately. The team will remain in Xcw for nine weeks, playing eighteen matches at the following towns: —Wangauui, Gisbornc. Napier, Dannevirke, Nelson, Westport, Christchurch, Timaru, J ncdin, Geralclinc, Carterton, Wellington, I'almerston North, Xcw Plymouth, Auckland. Hamilton, and possibly Whangarci. Tn addition. two test matches will be played at Christchunh and Auckland.

The visiting team will be composed of three British officers and twelve natives, mainly Sikhs. The natives should prove a great attraction in New Zealand They play hockey as part of their military training, with the result that they have achieved a liisili state of efficiency. In addition to toeing clever stick players, they are very fast, and should lie able to give a good account op ihomselves the best side which New Zealand is able to place on the field.
