COMMONWEALTH FLEET.
LOSS OF HALF MILLION. (BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) MELBOURNE, January 28. The annual report of the AuditorGeneral, referring to the Commonwealth Shipping Line, says that it showed a net loss for the year of £209,364. To this had to be added depreciation and debenture interest, making a total loss for the year of £593,879. The amount spent on the fleet was £1,967,462, and the earnings totalled £1,831,649.
