The fifth victim of the Redhead colliery disaster has succumbed to his injuries. [The explosion at the Redhead Colliery, near Belmont, Lake Macquarie, in the Newcastle district, killed one man and injured 11, three of whom have since succumbed. The explosion was attributed to a naked light coming in contact with a pocket of gas.]
