TAHU HANDICAP CUP. CHRISTCHURCH A WIN. Tlio Tahu Handicap Cup, which is a threo-chukka all-against-all tournament, was pla;ied yesterday afternoon at the Polo Ground' Bagley Park, before a fair attendanco of spectators who witnessed some closely contested games. The-standard of the polo played was fairly high for this season-of the year. The contest resulted in a win for the Christchureh, A team, which won. both its matches after strenuous ganws. The outstanding player of IUo day .was I>. Gould, who was conspicuous a,l( through for fine play. Afternoon tea was provided by the Christchureh. Polo Clut». The following were the teams entered and the handicaps: Pareora—A. Si Elworthy, Charles Miller, H. Elworthy, and Harry Orbeli. Handicap, one goal. \ "* ■ Christchureh A—Tahu Rhodes, I>. W. J. Christchureh B. . This game resulted in a tie and necessitated an additional chukka having to be. played. The A team put up a fine perfoimanoe, and although still three goals down at the beginning of the final chukka, they mariaged to win a close, even game by one goal. The B team immediately set up a hot attack, and from a scramble in front of the goal Macdonald almost scored. From a brilliant hit by Johnson, Mactlonald scored the first goal. The A team held the- ascendancy in the second chukka, Rhodes and Button goaling. The A team commenced fhe third chukka with a deficiency of three goals. They had the best of the play, Grigg goaling twice. The B's then made a break away, only to be sent back again. Gould then levelled the scores with a fine angle shot, the chukka ending soon after. Extra time was then played and resulted inTJhodes" scoring the winning goal after some strenuous *play in front of the B team's goal. The final scores were •.—Christchurch A & Christchureh B 7. Chiritchurch A v. Pareora. This game resulted in a narrow win for Christchnrch' after a fast, even game. Two additional chukkas had to be played before -the final goal was scored, and the game bote an erea aspect all through Chritschurch opened at a quick rate, and from a scramble in front of Pareora's goal, Christchurcjh equalised the scores. After a neat piece of play between Rhodes and Grigg, the latter goaled. Christchureh A2, Pareora 1. The blues continued to held the upper hand, and Button just missed .a close shot at goal. H. ©worthy then made a great run for the length of the fiehv his shot at go*! grazing the post. Immediately after A. B. Elworthy goaled and the chukka ended; with the scoreß: Christchureh A 2, Pareora 2. . H. Elworthy shot in a fast one after r©» sumption of play. Pareora 3 ? Christchurch A 2. Pareora continued to press and A. S. Elworthy added to the score. After some tip and dawn play Gould broke clear away and shot an easy goal. Pareora 4, Cbristohurch A 3. After even play H. Elworthy put Pareora ahead in the third chukka. Grigg then scored for Christchurch, while Gould equalised, the scores with a fine snot in front of the goal. Pareora then, attacked, but Gould saved. As the scores were level another cliokka was then played. Both teams forced the pace, but good defensive play kept the 6cor© down. In the last rally of the chukka, Pareora made a great effort, but Miller's shot just missed. Play in the fifth chtihka was very fast, Grigg then, H. Elworthy making good runs for their respective teams. As the bell rang, Gould made a great hit for the winning shot and the game ended Christchurch A 6, Pareora 5.

cnulstckarch B v. Pareora. Owing to the fact that Christchureh A had won the Cup, this game was played in only one chukka. After a fairly even game, marked by individual efforts, Pareora scored two goals to their opponents' one, and the game ended Christchureh B 7, Pareora 3.
