MAIREHAU AMATEUR CLUB. Tho Jlairohau Amateur Club held a ninemile road race on Thursday evening; (he course being twice round Hill?. Shirley, Marshland, and JJcSaveney's roads, and finishing at the Maireban Hall. A heavy shower of rain came on just at the start of the race, and somewhat spoiled the Tiding for tho first lap. At tho conclusion of the rare Mrs R. Htose presented the prizes to the winners. Owing to amateur races being held at English Park ou Christmas night. Darfield on Boxing Day, Glentunnel on December 28th, and Ohokaon New Year's Day. it has been decided not to hold any more road races until after .these sports are held.
