THE ROYAL COMMISSION. »■ ■ (SPECIAL TO "THS PHRS3.") WELLINGTON, December 18It is expected that the sittings of the Woolston Tanneries Royal Commission will commence in Wellington towards the end of January. His Honour Sir James Hosking will be the Commission, b'ir John Findlay, K.C., who appeared for the Government when the company's claim in regard to severe losses said to hare been sustained as a. result of alleged harsh administration' of the regulations dealing -with the control of hides and skins during the war, was before a joint committee of the two Houses of Parliament, has been retained by the Government, and' Mr M. Myers, K.C., who represented the Woolston Tanneries at the joint committee, will appear for the company before the Royal Commission. The order of reference empowers the Commission to report whether Woolston Tanneries, Ltd., have suffered dam.r age entitling them to compensation from the public funds, and if so, what amount.
