HEATHCOTE NEWS.
Break-up Concert. The local school's break-up concert, given by the scholars, usually draws a big audience, and Thursday night's performance in the Club Hall was no exception. The children, who had been trained by Misses Beattio and Berry, made a very good showing indeed. Daring the evening, Mr W. R3dcliffe, chairman o£ the School Committee, took the opportunity to present the Dux medals to Millicent Laughlin and Jack Newton, the successful Standard VI. scholars. After the concert a short dance was held, music being supplied by Misses L. Bloor and E. Williams. The following individual items were given in addition to several ohornses and folk songs:—Song, Annie Johnston; Tecitation, Gordon Williams; duet, M. Robertson and E. Lnnn; recitation. Iris Clarke: dialogue, Elvie King, Thelma Woods, Cliff Ellis, and Ken. McVinnie. Tennis Team. The following players will represent the local club against Redcliffs at Eeathcote this afternoon: —Misses C. King, J. Hay, E. King and E. Veale; Messrs J. Evans, E. Dickey, V. Prebble and C. Toy.
