LICENSING REFORM.

PRIME MINISTER'S ASSURANCE. On November 16th, the New Zealand Licensing Beform Association addressed a letter to the Prime Minister (the Hon. J. G. Coates) urging that licensing legislation should be treated as of first importance during the coming session, and that Cabinet should givo the matter special consideration at the earliest possible moment. The Prime Minister has replied in the following terms: — "Sir, —I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of tho 16th instant, and to say that I have taken careful note of your further representations on the subject of licensing legislation. Your association may rest assured that no undue delay will take place in giving consideration to the quetion of licensing reform."
