It is now learned that the promoters of a company which has been, formed for the purpose- of extracting nitrates by means of hydro-electric energy are" W leave Dunedin on Monday- for Manapouri and Doubtful Sound, accompanied bv an officer of the Public Works Department. ' Tho Department has arranged to begin the survey in tho Te AniiU-MaE.apouri district. The project of harnessiing one or more of the' numerous waterfalls is evidently to be pursued.
