SIR HEATON RHODES.
TO BE ENTERTAINED AT A BANQUET. DECISION OF SUPPORTERS.. At a largely-attended and very representative meeting of EUesmero County friends and supporters of the Hon. Sir Heaton Rhodes,' M.L.C., Minister of Defence, held at Lecston on Monday night, Mr John Cunningham (county chairman) presiding, it was decided to entertain the Minister and Lady Khodes at a banquet on q. date to Lo hxed later. The middle of January was suggested as a suitable time. Invitations are to be sent to the Prime Minister and other members of Cabinet. The suggestion was made {hat other parts ot the electorate should be invited to co-operate, so as to mako the function representative of the whole constituency. Before tho next meeting, which will he held on December 3rd, enquiries will bo made with a view to ascertaining whether supporters and friends in other parts of tne electorate desire to join in. At the unanimous request of the meeting, Mr H. Neavo agreed to act aa secretary, and the following were appointed a committee, with power to add to their number: —Messrs J. Cunningham, H. Neave, W. Lochhead, E. J. Cowan, *\!e\ Webstet, John He&lon, J. S. McClelland. H. Schnelle, J. P. McEvedv. F A. Wacner, R. T. McMillan, J. Boag, T. W. Brooks, L. B. Coe. S. Johnston, F. Rowel I, and J. H. McMillan. The main difficulty in the way of making the gathering thoroughly representative of the whole electorate seems to be that of securing the use of a building largo enough, to accommodate ail who would wish'to attend. It was thought that if the use of. the farmers' Co-operative Association's large grain store at Lake road rnilwav siding could be secured it would suit quite well.
