SYRIAN BRIGANDS.
VILLAGERS IN STATE OF TERROR (BT CABLI—PMSS AISOCUTIOW—COPIRIGHT.) (EKUTBB's TBUSOBAMS.) DAMASCUS, NovemJber 22. A fight between 000 French end 700 brigands, under the leadership of Hassan Harrat, resulted 1 in 30 of the latter being killed and 40 wounded, including Hassan, whose injuries aret serious. The French losses were trifling.
Terroristic methods are being adopted t by Hassan Harrat, with a view to silencing iviHagers regarding the movements of brigand bands. Threb villagers were found outside one village hanging to a tree. The decapitated body of a fourth -was lying near. All had been tortured before death, and placards affixed to the bodies stating that they were executed as traitors.
