SWIMMING.
FENDALTON CLUB, The Fendalton S-wimming Club opened the season on Saturday afternoon with a number of races. The chib's president, Mr C. Bellj imade tho opening speech. Mr H. S. S. Kyle, H.P.f spoke of the success of the chib in the put season, and wished it a progressive ancl successful 1923 season. Mr F. H. Bowles, president of the Canterbury Amateur Swimming Centre, thanked the club members on behalf of the visitors. Following art the resu-'ls of the races :rFirst Distance Lewis Cup, 25yds—L.
