SATURDAY'S MATCHES. Playing in the senior compftition at Cust, the home team nude 68 (Smith 18, A. Garten? 10) and Loburn made 61 for seven wickets (Smith 23, Parker 19, Croft 10 not cut). For Loburn, G. Croft took two wffckets for 18 runs, 11. Wetherell five for 16, and J. Bennett three for 15. Amberley and Woodend met at Amberlev. When play oommenced the ; weather was hot and a nor'-west breeze blew, i which changed to the south-west before the matches were over, and the latter part cf , the afternoon was cold, but the rain held ! off. Sunnyside put up a fair score against ■ Shirley, who have made an -excellent start, and have nut on 93 without the loss of a wicket. Woolston were dismissed by Greens for 91 runs. When play ceased the latter had made 50 for the loss of three wickets. SENIOR GRADE. Sunnyside v. Shirley. Winning the toes, Sunnyside batted first, and had 146 on for six wickets, when a ret set in. and the last four wickets fell for 17 runs. Watson batted well for 63, and showed a variety cf strokes until he received a severe blow on tLc' knee when his score was 37, which caused his temporary retirement. On resuming his footwork was restrained, but his exhibition was a good one. Cullen and Archer mado a great stand for Shirley, batting for an hour for 93 runs, and were unbeaten when play ceased.
