MOTORMAN DISMISSED.

UNSUCCESSFUL APPEAL. A sitting of tho Tramway Appeal Board yesterday heard an appeal by G. W. Copeey, a motorman, against his dismissal by the Christchureli Tramway Board in connexion with a derailment that occurred at the Addington railway crossing on October 3rd. Mr H. Y. Widdou'son presided, and with him as assessors were Messrs •!. A, Frostick (Tramway Board), and S. F. Scott (Trainwar Iniofl). Mr Hunter appeared for the appellant and Mr J. J. Dougall for the Board. The Board dismissed the appeal, but mado a recommendation that Copsey he given employment as a senior conductor. Mr Geo. Pearce, chairman of the Tramway Board, gave an assurance that tho recommendation of tho court would bo given effect to.
