ENGLISH PARK STADIUM.

TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIVE . PROGRAMME. The programme which lias been drawn u',> for to-morrow night's sports meeting at English Park is easily tie strongest from an all-round point of view that has ever hecn presented at this popular rendezvous. In addition to the usual handicap and running events, several special attractions have been added. Chief of these, perhaps, will bo the match races between M. Fitzgerald, of Australia, and C. J. Sowden, one of the speediest and most popular sprinters who ride at English Park. The distances which the riders will conteßt will be a quarter-mile unpaccd and half and three-quarter-mile paced. It is almost certain that the winner of this match will be pitted against "Jumbo" Wells, so that (he Meeting of the pair to-morrow night is vested with unusual interest. Another' very interesting event from a public and sporting point of view will be the race between D. McLemian, New Zealand's champion sprinter, who can run, 100 yds in something like even time, and a couple of the fastest whippets which could be found in Australia. These whippets have .been timed , to run 100 yds' in S 4-ssec, so the runner, who .' will receive 35yds start, will need to do his best to' beit his diminutive opponents to the finishing post. A JS T cw Zealand Cup handicap for whippets has been placed on the programme, and the race. has been endowed with the sum of 25 sots. One ot the moat exciting events promises to be the quarter-mile first-class handicap, in which Phil O'Shea, -"Jumbo" Welis, M. Fitzgerald (Australia); C.S J. Sowden, C. Bell. J. ; Henderson, J. BeaTman, "VV. Mackie, K. Mami., and several other prominent riders will take part. Other events include a two-lap second and ■ third-class handicap, in which there will be six heats, a two-lap amateur handicap ..of five heats, a one-mile onen handicap of four heats, a 120 yds amateur flat race of three heats, and a whippet hurdle handicap over JOOys. There will be a frequent tram service to the gate*.
