' SYDNEY, October 28. • Major Gobdaell and' James Paddon are both well forward with their training. Goodsell is reported to ho sculling much better than when ho defeated Hannan, but he has been unfortunate in having two boats damaged beyond repair. He is now accustoming .himself to a new one. Paddon's work greatly pleased his. supporters, who aro very optimistic that he will be able to, take'the honours from the champion.
