ports had grown in value during recent years. In 1924-23 the exports were £54,000,030, of which - Britain took £23,C00,C00, other British countries £12,000,000, and foreign countries £12,0CX),000. There was a good market in the Pacific, where at present Australia found an outlet for a large amount of products. . Trade commissioners should be appointed to investigate all possible- sources of foreign markets. Once established the problem of shipping would solve itself. He touched briefly on the present wages question. He said the real solution was not so much the increase of the basic wage, but to reduce the present high cost of living, which would 'bring more relief than an increase in wages. At tho conclusion a vote of thanks and confidence was carried amid cheers, and an enthusiastic meeting closed with the singing of "For He's a Jolly 'Good Fellow."
