FIRE IN STEAMER.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES. (PSSSS ASSOCIATION TZLEGBAU.) WELLINGTON, October 19. The fire which broke out in tho Turakina while berthed afc tho King's Wharf last Thursday morning, . and which resulted in serious damage to the cargo, kas been the subject of investigation'. As a result, facts have been disclosed which lead to the belief that the outbreak was not accidental, as at first thought. The investigation has shown that the fire broke out in four different portions of the after hold simultaneously. The cargo in the hold consisted mainly of copra, an inflammable product. The theory of spontaneous combustion is now discounted, and the outbreak is considered to bo tbo work of an incendiary or incendiaries.
