ANNIVERSARY DAY.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A nseiituig of the Executive Committee for the celebration of th« 75th anniversary of Canterbury iwm h«ld last evaning, the llayor (Mr J. K. Archer) presiding. Mr J. A. Flwhwr was appointed deputy-chairman. It wtw tOEStderod that £SOO would bo required for expenses, a.nd the meeting decided to abroach tho local bodies for contribution® and also to approach the public for subscriptions. It was agreed to approach Ca.bi net with a viow u> validating payments from local bodies. Tho secretary (Mr G. L. Donaldson) was authorised to oonfer with Superintepdent. AVarner, cf the Fire Brigade, with reference, to a fireworks display, and it. was also agreed to display lantern slides of old Canterbury in intervals in tho fireworks display. Arrangements were made for the subcommittees to meet during the coming week to arrange details for the profession.
