Self-Denial Appeal, The Salvation Army h making its annnal self-denial appeal to Lyttelton citizens. Tomorrow an opportunity will ho given iho public of assisting in a' practical manner, and of showing its appreciation of this great institution. The Army collectors will hold their street day and sale, and the citizens will be asked to support the humane work to the best of their ability. Oddfellowship. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal City of Norwich Lodge was hold in tao Oddfellows' Ha.ll on Tuesday. N.Cf. Bro. A. J. Williams presiding. Sick pay amounting to £24 was passed for payment. The. Grandmaster of the Lyttelton district, Bro. Geo. Harris, accompanied by the Deputy Grand Master, Bro. A. J. *»arris, and the P.C.S. Bro. W. T. Fostc-, wero welcomed by the N.G., who requested the Grand Master to occupy t.ho chair. After thanking the Lodge for the welcome extended to himself and his officers and delivering a short address, the Grand Master asked the N.G. to resume bis chair. Then the Grand Master of the North Canterbury district, Bro. A. James, accompanied by tho Deputy Cfrand Master, Bro. A. Franco, the P.C.S. Bro. T. J. Archbold, the District Treasurer, Bro. J. R. Mcrriman, and representatives from Loyal City of Christchurch, Loyal Addington, Loyal Bcnovolonl, Loyal Volunteer, Loyal Perseverance, Loyal Phillipstown, Loyal Iticcarton, and Loyal Past Grands Lodges wero admitted and wolc.orood. The usual toasts wore honoured. After Lodge business, the City of Norwich Lodge entertained the visitors at a social evening, whoa » very en.ioyablo time was spent.
