LADIES' COMPETITION. THIRD ROUND. The third round of the Canterbury Tennis Association's ladies' inter-club competition was played at Wilding Park yesterday. New Brighton v. Addington. New Brighton defeated Addington by six matches to nil. Mrs Miles beat Mrs Adams, 9-4. Miss Eaglesome beat Mrs Clemens, 9-4. Miss Spratt beat Mrs Cooper, 9-4. Mrs Barry beat Mrs Mathewson, 9-5. Mcsdames Miles and Barry beat Mesdamea Adams and Mathewson, 6-5, 6-2. Misses Eaglesome and Spratt beat Mesdamcs Cooper and Clemens, 5-6, 6-3, G-2. Opawa B v. Avonside. Opawa B defeated Avonside by five matches to one. Mrs Brooke lost io Miss Morland, 4-9. Miss Travers beat Mrs Herdman, 9-3. Miss Good beat Miss Dinnioombe, 9-4. Miss Scott beat Mrs Wilson, 9-4. Mrs Brooke and Miss Travers beat Mi'hb Morland and Mrs Herdman, 6-4, 6-1. Misses Good and Scott beat Miss Dinnicombo and Mrs Wilson, 5-6, 6-5, 6-5. Halswell v. Opawa A. Halswell defeated Opawa A by six matches to nil. Miss Muirson won by default from MtBS Bowron. Mrs Page beat Miss Reed, 9-5. Mrs Bullock beat Miss Miller, 9-2. Mrs Ballan beat Mrs Tregear, 9-3. Miss Muirson and Mrs Pago beat Misses Bowron and Keed, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. Mesdames Bullock and Ballan beat Miss Miller and Mrs Tregear, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. ENGLISH WOMEN'S TOUR NO AUSTRALIAN VISIT NEXT YEAR. Mrs Lambert Chambers stated that it would be impossible for the English women tennis players to visit Australia next summer. Their African tour would occupy from October to February, and they must return promptly to defend the Wiglitman Cup. The Australian visit will be a possibility during 1927. The United States Lawn. Tennis Association lias announced the resumption oi tennis relations with Germany, which were suspended during the war. American players may enter German tournaments and Germans may enter all American tournaments except the national championship, which carries international recognition. It is exp>cted that all restrictions will be soon removed. Tho Asaociation also favouig Gemma participation in tho Davis Cup.'
