Mr K. R. Caygill considered that it was essential that the bent players should plav against the visiting team, and some of them would probably not be able to get leave from work after the tour in Australia. The chairman considered that it would be worth inviting South Australia to send a team acroi-s next year, if Clem Hill, Grimmett, and the Richardson* would come. That Stato should be a pood .young side. Queensland and Tasmania had ulreadv made enquiries about a New Zealand tour. Mr V,'. H. Winsor: Another advantage will be that our fellows will not have such formidable opponents aa New South Wales and Victoria, and they should play a game against South Australia that should help "them next. time. Mr Caygill: \Yo should insist that the four stars should be in the team. Mr Reese: The tour would extend our friendship in Australia. The original policy Mas that we should visit Australia every six years, and that, in between we should receive visits from the States. On the motion of Mr Cavgill it was decided to cable to Australia "that it was impossible to invite another team this season and to ask what chance there was of South Australia, including Hill, coming next season. Mi- Peake said the Victoria-ns' tour of New Zealand had cost £IBOO, and all the minor associations had lost on their matches. The next visiting team would have to playcombined minor Associations. The secretary also reported that at the request of the- Australian Board of Control it had been decided that the New Zealand touring team should play a match at Ballarat, in the interval betweM| the. matches against Melbourne and Adf l< j3e. The Australian- Board of Control adviaed that the Ballaxat Association had offered the whole of the gato after paying expenses, as it did not wish to make any profit out of the match.
