OBITUARY.
MR JOHN REVELEY. The death took place recently at the Ashburton County Hospital, after an illness, lasting three months, of John Reveley, of Springburn. The late Mr Reveley, who died at the age of 37 years, was the second son of Mr and Mrs B. Reveley, of Kimberley. He married a daughter of Mr L. Hicks, of Alford Forest, and leaves a* widow and two young children. Before his illness he was farming in th 6 Springburn district, and was highly respected by all who knew him. He left for the Avar with the 27th Keinl'orcement, and was invalided home from France, but never recovered from the effects of his war service. The funeral, which took place at the Kimberlcy Cemetery, was very largely' attended. The burial service was conducted by the Eev. C. L. Sparrow. Wreaths were sent by the Returned Soldiers of the Springburn district, and father mother, brothers and sisters of deceased, Mr and Mrs E. A. Payne and family (Ambcrley), Mr and Mtfs H. Gough (Greendale), Mr and Mrs W. Slatt sen., Herb and Mary, Mr and Mrs W. "Wright (Springburn), Mr and Mrs D. Bailey (Mokouaiti). Mr and Mrs H. Knight (Waiau), Mr and Mrs A. Boulton, Mr and Mrs D. Syme and familv (Springburn), Mr and Mrs Murfitt (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs A. McKay (Halkett) Mr and Mrs T. Burgess (Staveley), and Mr and Mrs J. Bryden (Christchurch). • MRS J. B. GPUBB. • The death occurred, a tew days ago, of a. well-known and much-respected resident of T.his city, Joliar.na Mitchell Orubb, widow of the late James Brown Grub L>. The late Mrs Orubb was born at Leith. .Scotland, in 18-">7. and came out to New Zealand in 1890. She settled at Oamaru, where, however, she resided for onlv a brief period, coming to Christchurch in the following year, 1391. She ir,ad? this city her home. For some years past she had resided at -501 St. Asaph street. She leaves behind to mourn their less r- son and a daughter.
