ATHLETICS.
OLD BOYS' CLUB. Tho annual meeting of tho High School Old Boys' Athletic Club was held last evening. Dr. W. S. Soed, a vice-president of tho club, presided over a good attendance of members. The annual report stated that the club had spent a most successful year, and had played a, very fair part in the various athletic gatherings held during the past year. The financial statement, showing a credit balance of £5 7s, was very creditable. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tho election of officers resulted as follows : —President, Mr A. E. Byrne; vicepresidents, Drs. W. S. Seed, Guy Haskins, H. At.'Taylor, A. Dcy, and A. H. Joseph; _club captain, Mr L. Smith; committee, Messrs T. B. Donnelly, D. M. Gunn, and S. Baird; delegate to Canterbury Centre, |Mr L. Smith; hon. secretary and trcasi urer, Mr B. 0. F. King. It was decided to take steps to obtain a coach for tho coming season. On the motion of Mr L. Smith, it was decided to place on record tho club's appreciation of the services of lbs retiring secretary, Mr F. Large.
