PETER DAWSON CUP. CANTERBURY BEATS OTAGO. (PSESS ASSOCIATION TZLZG&AV.) . DUNEDIN, September 12. _ In spite of *ho wet and cheerless conditions, the match between Otago and Can-, terbury for the Peter Dawson Cup attracted an attendance of about 2000 spectators. For the first time since the presentation of the cup it passes out of the hands of Otago, tho match being won by Canterbury by 3 goals to 1. The .visitors showed themselves superior in tactics and finish to Otago, but, this superiority was much less marked in the second spell than in the first. For the winners goals. were scored by Trotter (2) and Norrie. Otago's goal was scored by Fraser. Mr A. Preston was referee. IN OTHER CENTRES. (JBZSS ABBOCIATIOS TK.XOBAHB.) . AUCKLAND September 12. North Shore 1 beat Ponsonby 0; Thistle S beat Y.M.C.A. 2; Koyal Navy 6 beat Northcote 4; Tramways 3 beat Heilaby's 2.
