A Montreal message states that Australia won the doubles, thus winning the matcn against Canada. G. L. Patterson and J. B. Hawkes beat V. Crocker and J. AYright, 6-0, G-2. 6-1. Patterson \va.3 ill overnight, Fufferinp, from ptomaine poisoning, but recovered ciently to play. He did not show any effects of his illness, and played better than lie did the previous day.
