GENEROUS DONATIONS.
CHURCH AND BOWLING CLUB. (special to "the press.") GISBORNE, August 13. Two generous donations are announced. The Parker Estate is giving to the Catholic Church £ISOO towards the erection of tho high altar in tho proposed new church. Pleased with tho appearance and condition of the greens of the Kahutia Bowling Club, but feeling tho pavilion was hardly worthy of the club, Lady Carroll has intimated her intention to give the sum of £SOO towards the cost of building a new club house.
