THURSDAY. (Before Messrs J. "Wallace and C. S. Bingham, J.P.'s.) DRUNKEIvNESS. Nine men, who were charged with drunkenness for the first time were each convicted and fined 10a, in default 24 hours imprisonment. SERIOUS CHARGE. Charged with having indecently a ten-year-old girl, Arthur Godfrey Halstead, Vvcars of age, labourer, was remanded to appear on Wednesday next. MAORI REMANDED. On a charge of having carried a pistol at the Addington racecourse, a Maori, Tua£aoa Whitau, 32 years of age, labourer. Hill Grove, Otago, was 'remanded to appear on Wednesday next. For having found drunk Whitau was convicted and fined 10s in default 24 hours' imprisonment. Bail was refused.
