. ♦- ANNUAL MEETING OF CANTERBURY COUNCIL. The annual meetirg of the Canterbury Trades and Labour C-uncil was held on Saturday night, Mr T. H. Butterfield presiding over & fair attendance of delegates. The" ajinual lepovt and balance-sheet were adopted. The ba'.ance-sheet showed an excess of assets liabilities amounting to £237? lCs 4d. Officers were elected:— Pre-iirnt. Mr E. Hamilton; vice-pree : dent, Mr _F. Robsn; secretary and treasurer, Mr Vr". J. G;c>n; executive committee, MiS3 Robinson, M.ssjs Walker, -Hankhui'st, Price, Fancy and Scales; Hall Management Committee, Messrs F. R. Cooka, F. Robson, H. "Wor-t-all, "Walker, T. H. Butterfield, E. Hamilton, Price and W. J. Green; del Rate to "W.E.A. District Council, Mr H. \Vori-»"; delegate to Labour Representation Committee, Miss Seymour and Mr F. R. Cooke. . A committee was set up, t> aot in ccn- : junction with a committee ofs .the L.RX!.._ to arrange fjr the observance cf Labour IJaJ". It was dee'ded to nominate Mr 1. R. Cooke for re-election on the Board cf Governors of the Christchurch Technical College. . . . A motion waa agreed to protesting against the proposed increase cf fees for Technical College classes. .
