During the first eight months of the first year under the operation of the Dawes Scheme, Germany paid 640,000,000 gold marks (£32,000,000) in reparations, five-sixths of which was, paid in cash from the proceeds of the foreign loan.
Great Britain received nearly 150,000,000 gold marks.
