TRAIN WRECKED.
CARS FALL INTO RIVER. FIVE PASSENGERS SILLED. (by cable—mess associvtios—corraiGKr.) (reciter's telegbaxs.} PAHJS, March 2S. The engine and seven coaches of the Bordoaux-Puris express wero derailed at 2 o'clock this morning near Poietiers. Two coaches mounted a cutting, and three fell into the river. Five persons were killed and 23 injured. The accident was due to the breaking of a coupling as the train reached a viaduct over tho narrow, deep river Clnin.
Tho leading carriage, which *a exclusively first-class, toppled over the viaduct and crashed across the river. Two carriages fell on top of it. Passengers in the first carriage wst<* extricated with difficulty frost the wreckage, into which tho river 'was pouring.
A party of soldiers from disciplinary regiments in Morocco were aboard tls# train. They performed moat helpful rescue work, carrying out the passengers. Senator Pcdebidou was among the killed.
