NAVAL BOAT CAPSIZES.
SEVENTEEN LIVES LOST. (by CAULS—press association-copniiOHT.) (Sidkbjt "Sra" Service.) YANCOIIVEB, February 8. The visit of the Japanese Fleet was marfed by a serious accident. Several hundred men from the cruiser Asama were returning to tho ship at one o'clock this morning, when a squall swept Vancouver harbour. Ono laTgo liberty boat, containing 140 men, overturned. Other' boats hurried up in the darkness, in answer to the cries of the drowning, but the latest reports show that seventeen sailors lost their lives.
