WEMBLEY, 1925. SUBSIDIES FOR DOMINIONS. (BT CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COBTMOHT) (AUSTBALIAN AND H.Z. CASUS ASSOCIATION.)
LONDON, January 20. It is understood that the British Government lias undertaken to provide the following subsidies for the Dominions taking part in Wembley, 1925, as contributions towards the cost of pavilions: ' & Canada >*' 70,000 Australia •• 50,000 New Zealand .. 25,000
South- Africa .. • • 15,000 India—Not determined. Newfoundland has intimated th&t she does not roquire a subsidy. South African intimated that alio did not require a larger subsidy, having already a surplus of £15,000 from the 1924 fund.
I'ho contribution for Canada is the maximum and for Australia and New, Zealand the contributions mentioned are the minimum. • The Embargo on Motor Displays.
A statement issued by the Motor Society announced at the most representative gathering of the industry ever held, unanimously confirms its previous decision regarding exhibiting at Wembley. It denies the assertion that its attitudo is influenced by foreign interest*, and points out that the British Cycle and Motor-Oyelo Union adopted the same attitude', while the Motor Society laid down tho same policy towards the British Industries Pairs organised by the Department of Overseas Trade.
[The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders recently announced that, members exhibiting at Wembley would be forbidden to exhibit at tho annual show at Olympia.]
