The death is announced of Charles Gladstone Allen, omo of the famous twin international laiwn tennis players.

(Received December 25th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, December 2-1.

The "Daily Express" reports that T. W. H. Crosland, author, died of consumption, in poverty in a London tenement, after a long illness. [Editor of tho .Review 7 ' in 1905 and assistant editor of tho "Academy" (1908-1911), Crosland was once an influential journalist. He is known in New Zealand chiefly for the violence of his literary and general prejudices as exenrolinea in such books as "The Unspeakable Scot" (1902.)]
