COMMUNIST ATTACKS EX-OFFICER.

PARIS, December 23,
The police are investigating an alleged murderous attack by Lany, a wellknown Russian Communist, on an cx-llussian officer, who is now driving a taxi-cab for a living.
It is alleged that Lany engaged a taxi for a long drive in tho suburbs, and when passing a quiet spot shot Klcboff five times, and left him lying wounded in the roadway. Lany took the wheel himself, but had to frisit a. garage owing to a breakdown. The mechanics becamo suspicious, and tho police wero called in. Lany, when arrested, said A hat he had been charged with the duty of killing Kleboff.
