BROADCASTING DOMINION NEWS.

STATEMENT BY POSTMASTERGENERAL. (pbesb association: telmeah.) NEW PLYMOUTH, December 21. The Hon. J. G. Coates, PostmasterGeneral, made .a statement last night relative to broadcasting Dominion news to ships trading in the Pacific. At present, the Amalgamated Wireless forwards a daily message up to a hundred words addressed only to ships inarmed by operators employed by the AmaJgamated. Other ships are not allowed to receive or use the message. The Postal Department has now arranged to forward nightly, except on Sundays and holidays, about 200 words of Dominion news. No restriction ih to be placed on its reception or use.
