A DANGEROUS CORNER.
CORONER'S COMMENT AND KLOBB. Mr H. Y. V/iddowson, Coroner, at the conclusion yesterday of an enquiry into the circumstances concerning the death of a middle-aged married woman, who died in the Chrietchurch Aospital on Wednesday night as a result of being knocked down by a milk-cart the same afternoon at the intersection of High and Madras streets, said thAt the i intersection was a dangerous one. Six streets met at this particular intersection. "I think the time has arrived," he oMj " when thia corner should have somebody on point duty. There are men .on point duty at other intersections in the city, and the'time is £ast arriving when the point duty men sliotjld be increased. But that i» k matter for the municipal authorities. I only hope that this will be a means of bringing home to the municipal authorities the necessity to increase point drity policemen." To his verdict he added a rider, which will in due course be lumded to the municipal authorities, to the effect that in his opinion a policeman should be put on point duty at the intersection.
