Listening Post; is working very -well at present, and though perhaps hardly forward enough to see out a solidly-run mile and a-quarter in the Otago Handicap at Wingatui on Friday, his outing there should sharpen him up for his other engagements at Wvndham and InvercargilJ. Our Auckland correspondent telegraphed that the Canterbury horses engaged at the Aucktand Racing Club's Summer Meeting wore delayed on the train from Wellington, and they did not arrive at Auckland till yesterday afternoon. The Wanganui horses reached Frankton on Saturday in time to catch the Rotorua eiprea l ?, and they wero landed at EllersKe on Saturday night. After running in tho rear for the best part erf the journey, he was going on at the finish like the good stayer he is. Muraahi should be a very fit horse on Auckland Cup day, and is sure to one of the wellbacked horses. H. Young, who wafl; injured when the pacer Sparkling Pronto fell with him at Rangiora on Labour Day, will be in. the saddle again during tho holiday period, and will be present at the round of meetings on the West; Coast.
