"I do not proposo to submit to tho Government my recommendation for the allocation of tho additional totalizator permits until I have had an opportunity of seeing the equipment of the courses of some of the country clubs in. the North and South Isla-nds, ' remarked the Hon. H. F. Bollard (Minister of Internal Affairs) to-day, prior to leading for the north. "There are only 12 racing and 19 trotting permits provided by tl'e darning Act," continued Mr Bollard, "but already I have received over 37 applications for the racing permits available, covering 45 days, and for the 19 trotting days available 35 trotting cluOs haivo made applications covering •14 days. There have been some pressing claims made by one or two clubs, and all will receive the fullest consideration before a pronouncement is made. I do not expect, in view of the many matters to be considered, that tho decision will bo come to until the end of the year or the beginning 0 f tho new year.'\
