CALEDONIAN HALL.

CONCERT FOR THE BLIND. * The concert in aid of tho blind soldiers and sailors organised by tho Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association, .find which was held in the Caledonian Hall last night, proved a triumphant* success. Tho quality of the programme waj of the best, and the largo hall was crowded. A party of male voices, mostly Liedertafel members, provided the backbone of the programme, with a number of skilfully sung part son™ 3. These included: "Who Sails \Vith Drake?" (Candlish), "Beware" (Hatton), "Marching Along" (Bantock), "In Absence" (Buck), "In ;i Gondola" (Lindera), and as ;i closing; item, "The Beleaguered'' (Sullivan). The part songs alone would iinvc made any programme. Various eolo items were also given. Miss Marjorie Melson sang "Will o' the Wisp," •"Hnowflakcs, ' and a pretty lullaby. Mr A. T. Hold's fine voice was heard' in "Tho Windmill" and "The Vagabond." Other solos were contributed by Mr W. B. Crowliurst, Mr W.Trewern, Mr W. F. 'Crura, and Mr K. W. Connor. Comedy songs by Mr S. L. Dcllner were welcomed, and "Nonsense Talks" by Mr A, Dev also nchicvo:l a big popularity. Mr J!. A. Turner gave several character recitations with remarkable success. Mr A. Worslcy was the conductor and pianist. Several of tho blind soldiers wero present jn tho audience, and their enjoyment 01 the programme even greater th>m that of the other patrons.
