(BT CABLE —PBZSS ASSOCIATION—COPTBIOHT) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.)
LONDON, November 25.
The Rome correspondent of the "Daily' Express" describes a sensational murder at the town of Naro, in Sicily, due to two sons of wealthy merchants copying the case of Leopold and Loeb at Chicago. The boys, Angelo and! Jodaro, after spending the day drinking in cafes, conspired to kill one Callegora, aged 19. They invited Callegora to accompany them in the evening to a deserted monastery. there to climb a tower and catch pigeons. When Callegora had reached' the top of the tower the murderers commanded him to write a letter to his father asking for the equivalent of *£looo._ Callegora refused, so they stabbed him and lowered the body into the monastic charnel house, where they buried it among the skeletons. The boys then went home, but the disappearance of Callegora had aroused suspicions, and when one of the boys was threatened with the cat-o'-nine-tails he broke down and confessed to the murder.
