CASUALTIES.
(TSZ3S ASSOCIATION TEUCQJUItJ ,\VHANGAIIEI, November 26. An inquest was held yesterday at Towai, concerning the death of Samuel Mason, a settler of Maroniaku, who tva-s found hanging from a liuib pj a tree about two miles away from his home. Norman Mason, a son, stated that he visited his father's property on Sunday morning and found the house burned down. The Kawakawa constable was notified, and found a number of bones in the debris, but these wero subsequently pronounced not human bones. A wider search revealed deceased's tragic end. A verdict was returned that death was due to hanging, while Mason was suffering deep mental depression.
