SUMNER ROWING CLUB.
Mr C-. M. Roswell presided over the annual meeting of the Sumner Itowing Club..
The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. A credit balance of £l4 was shown, with liabilities nil and assets £545. Tho chairman, Breaking of the last season's progress, referred to the generous support willingly given by residents in the borough. For the first time for some years the club was well on its feet. With the addition of a row. double sculler and a new four-oar, they should give a, good account of themselves. It was- decided to open the season with club ajtd inter-club races on Saturday, October 25th. , The following officers - were appointed: Patron, The Mayor {Mr W. H. j.n ichoison); president, Mr C. M. Eoswell; vice-presi-dents, Messrs T. Vogan, "W., Harrison, W. G. Black, F. Trusoott, J. A. Booth, F. D. Kesteven, J. S. Monok, P Dick, and G. Sutherland; captain, Mr V. Peters; vicecaptain, Mr D. Richardson; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr L. Wood; committee, Messrs P. O.liver, A. Pragnel], A. Sutherland, A. Thomas, It. Hill, J. It. Dob'os, J. R. Hampton, and G. Burns; delegate to Canterbury Bowing Association, Messrs V. R. Peters and J. R. Hampton; honorary auditor, Mr W. ri. Harrison. Medals presented by the Mayor (Mr W. H. Nicholson) for greatest improvement amongst junior scullers were won by R. Xeville and W. Merrift.
