Ho reierrad to the need for fencing the bank from the College reserve to the old intake, and raentiored that the roads at S'.e?rnrt'3 Gully Settlement had been completed at a cost of £-26 16s. Referring to a complaint regarding encroachment of the Byre river at Oxford, the. overseer stated that he was of opinion that no great harm coiild he done at the place-, as the railway line mad? a good groyno. If the large bight was planted with willows, at a cost of about £3O, it would be quite Bare. In cormesion with the proposed work at Baker's, Mr R- Hickland had stated that hie property was now ever-drained, owing to the large drains being washed out, and causing shingle to collect at Bakcr'a. The la-t flood scoured 'he drain opposite Xo. 2 drain, and Mr Hickland asked ths Trust to consider putting in another dam. Arising out of the report, ii waa agreed to refer the matter of fencing to the Works Committee. It waa agreed to i £ls on planting w-Tows on the banka of the Eyre at Oxford. The draining oneetioa raised by Mr Hickland was loft in the hands of the chairman. The Returned Soldiers' Araociation offeree! to give £l5O, provided the Trust subs d'e»d the amount £ for £, and cspended the whole of the £?00 in providing- work for returned so'd'ers. j The offer was accepted. I The secretary of the H«rewood Golf Chfo wrote accepting the Trust's offer to spend 520 on the purchase of trees for the ]i»ks, provided the club carried out the p'anting j under the supervision of the TrnetVi over- J Beer. .
