ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury and West Coast Centre of the St. John Ambulance Association was held last night. Present —Lieut.-Col. Cresswell (chairman), Mesdames H. H. Smith, and Bishop, Major Gray, Messrs Hoddinott, Purdon, and Wallace, and. Dr. Borrie . It was decided to make no charges for the use of an ambulance in cases where persons were in indigent circumstances. The secretary of the Rotomanu branch of the Farmers' Union wrote stating that at the last meeting of the Union appreciation of the good work of the Association anci its -benefit 'to mankind had been expressed by many of the members present. The. secretary reported that , the classes on th? West Coast and in Otira were ever increasing in numbers, and the instructors were' doing excellent work. Classes were still being formed in Christchurch for firstaid and home-nursing. The financial statement showed that the Association had a credit-balance of £561 9s lOd.
