CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
The fortnightly social evening of the Canterbury Caledonian Society was held' in the Caledonian Hall on Monday last, and a very attractive programme waa submitted to the members and friends present. The president, Mr C.. SI Thomas,~ occupied the chair, and was supported by the following vice-presidents: Messrs A. McKenzie, G. Ritchie, and G. Sey. The programme' was arranged by Messrs B. Moore and W. 6. Brass, and the following contributed items: Selections, Pipe Band; - songs, Messrs C. Harraway atid Bracy Wilson, Miss Waveney Bowbyes, Mrs A. L. Scott, Mm Thompson and Miss Z. Campbell; duet, Misses Carpinter and R. Gray; dialogue, -Misses May and Iris Herriot; character song, Master R. Fostfer: recitations, Mrs Hugh McCleod; and a violin solo by Mr Bernard Barker. The Irish reel waa danced by Mieses E. Turner, ▼. Robertson, J. Irvine, and I. Bruce, Miss D. Caldow danced the Highland fling, and Miss L. McCall the seann triubhiis, and Mieses D. Caldow, L. McCall. V. Robertson, and E. Turner the Reel o' Tulloch. The' accompanists for the evening were Mrs E. A. Smith, Mr Claude. Williams, and Mrs Atkinson. The concert was followed by a danoe, for which Mrs Smith and Mr Frye supplied the music.
