MOTOR-BOATS APPEAR.

Gondoliers in Venice made an angry demonstration against the authorities for allowing motor-launches to ply on the canals. The gondoliers surrounded the motor stations, preventing tho boats moving. They also wrecked tho landing stage. Subsequently 300 gondoliers went in a procession up tho Grand Canal to tho Town Hall, where an t-normous crowd shouted, "Down with the motor-boats t*'
