| WALTHAM. The monthly meeting: of the W<liam Committee was held on Monday. Present— Mr J. Shier (chairman), MwSw Sijnmonis, Ttirnpr, Smith, Symona, Hayward, Mortilock, and Marsaen. An apology wan received fronj Mr Gray. The headmaster reported the. roll number to be 368 boys and. 311 Rirlfl, total 669, and til a average attendance 806. Mufs C. Willcox's rcdignfttion M assistant mistress, owing to an appointment at Dinaevirko, was accepted with retret. The resolution contained in the N.Z. Amateur Swimming. Aasoowitioh'e circular. . that the present grant bo incrtaeed by the Government for the teaching of Swimming amongr school children, wae unanimously endowed, and the secretary \vi»B instructed to .convey the committee's approval to Mr H. T. Armstrong, M.P. A deputation, oo nesting of Messre Shifer, H»yward,. and Smithy was appointed to wait on th© Board icta-tiT© to an additional room.
