Guy Butlsr, the famous Cambridge quar-ter-miler, tore the muscles of his right thigh it Stamford Bridge, thus seriously prejudicing the hopes ci a British win in the 400 metres at the Olympic Games. [G. M. Butler, a former president of the C.U.A.C., won the Inter-'Varsity 440 yards in 1921 and 1922, and in 1920 tied with the Oxford president, B. G. D'U. Rudd, the time •that day being 49 3-ssec.]
