THE DAVIS CUP.
AMERICAN ZONE MATCHES. (Received June 10th, 7.55-p.m.) NBY7 YORK, June 9. The Tennis Association has announced the schedule of play for American Zone Davis Cup teams. Cuba meets Canada at Ottawa on July 24th, 25th. and 2t"th, and tho winner plays Japan at Montreal from July 31at to August 2nd. Meantime Australia meets China at' New York from July 31st to August 2nd, the winner engaging Mexico at Baltimore on August 7th, Sth, and 9th. Thfc final round of the American Zone will ba played at Providence, Rhode Island, probably in the middlo of August, after which tho winners of the American and European zones meet at Boston, beginning on September 4th.
The challenge round well be played at Philadelphia on September 11th, 12th, and 13th.

(Received June 10th, 7.56 p.m.) LONDON, June 10, Writing in the "Daily Telegraph," Wallis Myers says that Wheatley is playing better in eVery international match. Gilbert almost deserved to lo3e by not attacking Raymond early, when stout volleying might huvo shortened the duel to. one of three sets.
